We heart Patternity. Patternity is a very gorgeous ball of confusion. It is a London based company that specialises as a resource for all things relating to patterns. It has three main components: the resource, the studio which along with other selective creatives produces a variety of patterned objects, and the online shop, which sells such items. In addition to these three areas, the website hosts a number of other features and basically acts an extremely strong inspiration. We admire what is being done at Patternity and definitely credit it as a massive helping hand in the design process of Memory Lane. Here are a few examples of the amazing imagery available on the site but please go to patternity.co.uk as we're sure you'll find it a valuable resource as well.
Memory Lane is based on the concept of producing a vintage magazine. The closet thing to an authentic
magazine from the past, Memory Lane aims to provide an intellectually and aesthetically pleasing piece of literature
exploring vintage inspired fashion, art, design and culture from the present.
It has been said by many people, many times, in many variations. 'You've got to know where you've been to know
where you're going'. This quote and others like it suggest the theory that in order to evolve in any sense, one must first explore the history of that particular area. This could be an explanation for the popularity of all things vintage. Another explanation has said to be the nostalgia factor.
